When I saw that the 450 euro refund already arrived in my account, I still felt a bit scared in my heart. If I did not add AXA Full Coverage when I booked with QEEQ, this trip with my kid in Barcelona might turn into a big money problem. It started a bit earlier. On April 30 in the evening I finished my plan and booked the car with them. On May 1 around 5 pm I went to the Niza Cars counter in Barcelona and picked up a Toyota Aygo. It was manual and a small car, good for the city. I was with my kid and our luggage was not too much, so I wanted something easy. The real problem came later. I returned the car on May 3 around 5 pm in the afternoon. That day my kid was a bit noisy and I was also tired. When I parked the car I did not see a low stone block. The front right wheel hit it and there was a strong scratch sound. The tire and the rim got marks. I froze for a second. My first thought was that I would need to pay a lot of money. My kid in the back asked me if the car was broken and I tried to calm him and said it was fine. When I gave the car back to Niza Cars, the counter staff checked very carefully. He saw the damage near the wheel and wrote it down right away. He was polite and just told me this was counted as damage and they would charge me by their rules. In my head I started to count how much it might be and it did not feel like a small number. After I went back I checked my booking again and saw that I bought AXA Full Coverage. My mood got a bit better. Because I travel with a child, I wanted more safety and one more layer of protection when I booked. At that moment I felt really glad that I did not try to save that money. Later I put together all the files I could find, like the bill from the rental counter and photos of the damage. Then I sent in the claim with these things. To be honest, as a parent who does not like trouble, I was worried at first that it would be very hard or that they would say no in the end. The customer team told me they were checking my case so I just waited. After some time they told me the claim was approved and the amount was 450 euros. I felt that this almost covered the extra cost that the rental company charged me. When I saw the money arrive, I let out a long breath. It felt like this accident did not break our family budget. This whole thing made me feel something very clear. When you travel with a kid, it is hard to keep every small detail perfect. Even a simple thing like parking can go wrong because your mind is split by your child. AXA Full Coverage was like a safety net for me. When something bad really happened, I was not standing there alone. If I did not buy this insurance, that 450 euros would come from my own pocket. For a normal parent like me this is not a small amount. It could change our spending plan for the next few months. Now the problem is fixed and I mostly feel thankful that I took that extra step when I booked. After this experience, when I rent a car again with my family, I will still put this kind of full coverage on the top of my list.
